If you’re looking for large event space and one which is a guaranteed crowd pleaser, the newly refurbished Halliwell Suite is just that! The private entrance, a grand sweeping staircase, a full-serviced bar and a large dance floor bring total glamour to special events such as weddings, award-ceremonies and celebration dinners.
The suite is named after local girl ‘Ginger Spice’ Geri Halliwell, who was born and raised in the area. Interior Designer, Helen Hooper explains her thoughts behind the design:
“We wanted to give the Halliwell Suite a totally glamorous and unique feel to help both leisure and business guests make their event an occasion to remember. Our goal, which I believe we have achieved, was to make the Halliwell Suite one of the most desirable and special larger event spaces in Watford.”
The suite has been designed with vivid colours, gold leaf wall lighting and stand out panelled wallpaper. General Manager of the Mercure London Watford Hotel Allan Porter shares his excitement with the refurbishment:
“I am delighted with the new Halliwell Suite, it is a real show stopper and something that will impress our long-standing and prospective guests. This investment is incredibly important for us as event bookings are a cherished part of our business and I believe we have created the ideal venue that will rival any other in the local area and beyond.”
If that isn’t enough, the venue also offers delegates enhanced refreshment breaks which include arrival tea and coffee, fruit smoothie shots, freshly baked cookies, plus sweetie and nut stations! Optional upgrades such as a cinema break including ice cream, popcorn and soft drinks are also available!
Variety is the at the heart of the dinning options. Opt for a light lunch with a selection of sandwiches or try the finger buffet which includes dishes such as roast tomato and herb quiche and smoked haddock and spring onion fishcakes. Finish off with some tempting desserts such as mini strawberry and cream pavlova and fresh fruit skewers with chocolate dipping sauce.
