Sitting on the edge of the Cotswolds and with panoramic views of the Malvern Hills, Hilton Puckrup Hall is a beautiful venue dating back to 1683. It’s the ultimate setting for a wedding and with two fantastic coordinators to assist the bride and groom, a wedding day lasting long in the memories of guests is guaranteed.
We recently caught up with Karen and Laura, the wedding coordinators at the venue to find out why Hilton Puckrup Hall is such a winner for weddings.
What made you want to be a wedding coordinator?
Laura: “I was originally working in the food and beverage department, focusing on running weddings as the toastmaster. I realised how much impact I had on people’s wedding day and how much I wanted to be the first point of contact for the bride and groom. I have been a wedding coordinator for just over a year now. ”
Karen: “I was approached to see if I would like to transfer from my existing role to a wedding coordinator. I was petrified to think about taking on the role of organising the special day for a bride and groom but can now proudly say it was the best decision I ever made!
“I’ve been at the hotel for 20 years and as a wedding coordinator for the last 12 years.”
What is the best bit about your job?
Laura: “I love being able to plan the wedding for a couple, especially getting involved from day one and our first meeting. And then seeing the ceremony on their wedding day.”
Karen: “I love meeting with the couple. It’s great listening to their individual ideas and then guiding them through the planning process. Hopefully this removes the wedding planning stress for them too.”
What makes the perfect wedding?
Laura: “It requires a lot of organisation and care which goes into every single individual detail of each wedding. And it’s the family and friends that make a wedding so special!”
Karen: “Seeing a bride and groom looking so happy on their big day and knowing we are the hotel that hosted this special event and has incorporated their own ideas; it’s what makes a perfect wedding!”
What are the top three things you would recommend to a bride & groom?
Laura: “To be calm, enjoy every minute of the planning and not to stress! The couple will look back on the planning and see it as the most exciting time of their lives, where they brought their dreams to reality.”
Karen: “I try my best to encourage couples to stay relaxed throughout the process, to not make the day too complicated, to avoid booking decorations through multiple companies and importantly, to make sure they enjoy the day from start to finish!
What options are available for weddings at the Hilton Puckrup Hall?
Laura: “We have some great wedding packages here at the hotel which include everything you would need in one set price. All you need to think about is the little decorations, cake, the dress and suits and the chosen photographer.”
Karen: “We have a variety of options available including the option for civil ceremonies. We are very keen to listen to the couples own ideas and accommodate these where possible.”
What three reasons would you give to future wedding couples to choose your venue for their big day?
Karen: “We have a beautiful Regency Ballroom situated in our Regency Manor House which makes your wedding very private. The Ballroom has recently undergone a major refurbishment and looks absolutely stunning!
“My second reason for hosting your wedding here is that we pride ourselves in making sure brides and grooms have a day which is as stress-free as possible! The dedicated team are here to help plan and run the wedding to do just that.
“Lastly, we also understand that everyone is looking for something different for their big day, so we strive to ensure their expectations are met.”
Are there any interesting facts about the history of Hilton Puckrup Hall?
Karen: “Our Regency Manor House used to be the home of gentry many years ago and it boasts its own Drawing Room and Library. These are ideal spaces for hosting a drinks reception. In addition, the hotel has its very own croquet lawn.
And for the wedding night, the hotel has 15 wonderfully appointed deluxe bedrooms in the Manor House. These are ideal for the wedding couple and families and wedding guests”
Lauren: ” In the June 1991, the hotel was bought by Country Mansion Hotels and work commenced on a new championship 18-hole golf course!”
